Baby Spaces
I don't know but nurseries just aren't what they use to be........oh no, they are so much better! They are modern, bright, bold, full of color, style and character. I love them! I have been in search of a little inspiration lately. 1. for the princess peach's nursery; it's pretty much done but I feel like it's missing something and 2. for a special little someone in our lives, Maximus the Brave . So in my search for some good ol' inspiration I came across some pretty darn great rooms.

I am really digging the variations in size, textures and patterns of this alphabet.

Love the contrast of the orange rocker with the zebra print rug.

And how great is this Robert Abbey light fixture?!

A yellow striped ceiling...love it!

Classic.

And how does this room make for a bold and dramatic nursery?!

And this nursery was by far my favorite of all!
Just look at how nicely the hallway's vertical stripes lead you into this tiny person's space.

Love, love the gray stripes on the walls and the orange and turquoise accents throughout add just enough pop to brighten up the room.

There are just so many elements throughout the room that I absolutely love. The roller blinds look great I just wish I could get a close-up of the fabric. The natural woven rug really warms up the space and who would have thought that a gray velvet ottoman would fit so perfectly in the room?!

How was that for a little inspiration? I don't know about you but it makes me want to go and makeover some nurseries.

DIY Project

So for months now I have been planning on making a canopy to hang over my princess peach's crib but I recently opted to go a slightly different route. I really wanted something different and was inspired by a photo I came across in a children's catalog.

So with my inspiration in hand I headed to the nearest Michael's in search for supplies!!

And here are all the supplies I scooped up!

(I've assured myself I'll get better at photo styling...sometime in the near future)

The project didn't take long at all though it took me months to decide what exactly I was going to do above/around her crib.

The end result!

I'm aware that most people aren't the biggest fans of wall decals but c'mon the most appropriate place for them are in kid's rooms and how cute is this one?! I couldn't resist. It tied in so perfectly to the theme of her bedding. As did the wreath/nest/canopy I made!

She may not be able to say it but I'm pretty sure my princess peach is enjoying the addition to her room. Actually I think she loves it and so does her momma!

Hot Pink Stroller for my little Peach!

So I was thinking hot pink. Yes! Hot Pink! That is for the color of my princess peach's new stroller. I've been researching and researching for days now, not only on color and STYLE but on things of much more importance such as size, weight, accessibility, and features, all while taking into consideration things such as to purchase a jogging stroller or to not, etc. etc.

I've researched every brand from Maclaren to Bumbleride, Inglesina to Bugaboo, Mia Moda to Peg Perego, Quinny to Orbit.

So after some serious research and watching an excessive amount of "how to" videos, deciding to not on the jogging stroller and narrowing down my list of must haves to must be lightweight, compact, smooth rolling, quick and easy to open AND close (since I'm ALWAYS on the go), must have a seat that reclines, a great big canopy, storage space, and of course stylish and Hot Pink, I FINALLY found the stroller!

Ready...

Drum Roll.......

Can you tell I'm excited about by decision....

The City Mini by Baby Jogger
Retail price beginning at about $250

Yes! This 8" lightweight stroller is almost everything I am looking for except that it doesn't come in hot pink! I know... so sad, but it does come in red and cream and orange and a variety of other colors although I've decided to go red like the pic above shows.

The City Mini is said to, "Capture the essence of urban mobility, and its lightweight design makes it perfect for running errands or all day excursions in the urban jungle."

Hahaha...urban jungle (good ol' Chicago, it's definitely an urban jungle and I am always running errands or taking my little peach on all day excursions. Sounds like a perfect match, huh? Yes in deed!

So for all you mothers out there, here is a little more info on the stroller:

I'm buying mine at The Land of Nod but it can also be purchased on-line at Baby Jogger.

And, guess who owns one....

That's right, Halle Berry! I found this pic by accident when googling pics of the stroller for this post.

Also, I must and simply cannot go without mentioning Baby Gizmo . It is a baby product resource site, dedicated to researching, evaluating, testing, and rating baby products of ALL brands and prices. They provide "how to" videos for a lot of their products, which I find to be absolutely wonderful considering that I hate to read instructional manuals (I know it's horrible).
I accidentally came across the website while researching the "prefect stroller" for my little peach. It's a great resource, especially for the ultra-particular mother like myself.
